Virtual Council Meeting Information

On March 17, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom declared a State of Emergency and issued Executive Order N-29-20 (found here).

The Order mainly deals with Medi-Cal, CalFresh, and CalWorks programs…but, it also waived many provisions regulating public meetings specific to teleconferencing.

Here are the changes:
Waived - that each teleconference location must be identified in a public meeting notice or agenda
Waived - that each teleconference location must be open to the public
Waived - that the public must have an opportunity to address the legislative body in-person
Waived - that the agenda must be posted at each teleconference location
Waived - during the teleconference, a minimum quorum of members must participate from within the legislative body’s territory - in this case Pittsburg

Due to these provisions, and to further assist in flattening the curve, we will not host a physical location for city council meetings while the Order is effective - it will be virtual. City Hall and the Council Chamber will be closed.

However, the public can still watch the meeting online and participate by sending in questions via email to meetingcomments@ci.pittsburg.ca.us
