Report a Crime Online

Welcome to the Pittsburg Police Department Citizens Online Police Reporting System. Using this online citizen police report system allows you to submit a report immediately. Please read the checklist below to see if online report is right for you.

  1. The crime is not an emergency. Call 9-1-1 or 925-646-2441 if this is an emergency or the crime is in progress.
  2. There are no known suspects and there is no obvious evidence (such as video or witnesses.) Crimes with possible suspect information must be reported to an officer. Call 925-646-2441 for more information.
  3. The crime occurred within the city limits of Pittsburg, California.
  4. The crime did not occur on a state freeway. If the crime occurred on a state freeway, contact the California Highway Patrol: http://www.chp.ca.gov/programs/cirs.html 
  5. If you are reporting a lost or stolen license plate or your missing property has a complete serial number and you know it, please call Dispatch at 925-646-2441.
  6. You have a valid email address.
  7. The crime is one of the following:
  • Harrassing Phone Calls
  • Hit and Run Traffic Collisions
  • Identity Theft
  • Lost, Stolen, or Vandalized Property
  • Theft of Property from an unlocked vehicle
  • Theft of Property from a locked vehicle (forced entry) - No Fingerprinting requested
  • Vehicle Tampering
  • Supplemental Reports
  • Please be sure to review the entire list with more options/details on the report filing page

Upon completion of the online report process you will:

  • See the words: "Your online police report has been submitted" showing that your police report is complete
  • Be given a police report case number

Please Note:

  • All cases filed using the Citizen Online Police Reporting system will be reviewed
  • Upon review, if further ivnestigation of your case is needed, you will be contacted by a representative of the police department
  • Filing a false police report is a crime
