Housing Element Update, 2015-2023
On May 4, 2015, the Pittsburg City Council adopted the 2015-2023 Housing Element. The adopted Housing Element was submitted for review to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) on May 11, 2015, with final certification expected by June 1, 2015.
Final 2015-2023 Housing Element
The state-mandated Housing Element for the 2015-2023 reporting period:
- Outlines the regional characteristics of the City and its existing housing stock, resources, constraints, special housing needs, trends, costs, and maintenance of neighborhood quality;
- Examines the general areas of housing needs such as safety, overcrowding, overpayment, discrimination, homelessness, and inadequate housing; and
- Identifies programs that will maintain, improve, and enhance opportunities for development of affordable and market rate housing.
