New "Exchange Zone"

The Pittsburg Police Department is pleased to announce its new "Exchange Zone"; a place to meet for private party transactions. The Pittsburg Police Department is one of several agencies now offering an "Exchange Zone" as a safer alternative to other meeting locations.

Our "Exchange Zone" is a well-lit, designated parking area located in front of the Pittsburg Police Department and is under 24-hour video surveillance. Although police officers will not be present during transactions, we believe arranging to meet in this designated area will potentially deter individuals wanting to engage in criminal activity. Additionally, using the "Exchange Zone" helps citizens maintain a level of privacy by not disclosing the location of their homes.

We encourage all citizens to utilize the "Exchange Zone" when conducting private party transactions. Your safety is our priority.

Don't Rush to Flush Campaign

The Pittsburg Police Department in collaboration with the California Product Stewardship Council is now accepting unwanted medication free of charge. This collaborative effort recognizes the importance of removing unused, unwanted and expired medications from our community in a safe and environmental manner in order to prevent abuse and misuse of these drugs. A deposit bin is located in City Hall adjacent to the Police Department doors and is accessible during normal business hours, Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
