The City of Pittsburg has an employee recognition program to acknowledge and reward employees for going above and beyond the normal job expectation or for making a significant contribution to the City of Pittsburg. You can nominate an employee or work group for an ANCHOR AWARD. Listed below are the ANCHOR Award categories:
Emergency Response: Demonstrating outstanding efforts while responding to a life-threatening emergency or minimizing or solving serious work related situations.
Innovation: Creating or suggesting a new process, program, service, or idea for the use of the City resulting in significant savings in manpower, money, or materials.
Leadership: Demonstrating ability to organize, motivate, and guide individuals or groups to complete projects and achieve goals.
Public Service: Providing high quality and responsive service to the public or internal customers by displaying concern, respect, and/or exceeding the customer’s expectation.
Teamwork: Demonstrating respect for the opinions and decisions of others; cooperating efforts in order to achieve common goals; showing passion for the project and contributing to the team’s success.
To nominate an employee or workgroup, please complete and return the two (2) page nomination form to City of Pittsburg, Human Resources Department, 65 Civic Avenue, Pittsburg, CA 94565 or via fax at (925) 252-4138. A selection committee will review the nomination forms received for the quarter and select one recipient or work group in each category. The selected employee(s) will receive an Anchor Award certificate, recognition in the employee newsletter, and a chance to win a grand prize at the end of the year.
