The Patrol Division operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The City of Pittsburg is broken into beats for deployment purposes, and officers are assigned to a specific beat for a minimum of four months. Patrol officers are the first responders to the public for calls for service and are the key to the success of the department's Community-Oriented Policing philosophy.
The primary mission of the Patrol Division is to maintain the peace and provide a response to calls for service. Pittsburg Police Officers are committed to improving the quality of life for the citizens we serve. This is done through a city-wide partnership, and by using proactive and solution-seeking initiatives to deal with a rapidly growing and diverse community.

The mission of the Traffic Division is to make the streets of Pittsburg as safe as possible for all vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians. Help keep our streets safe by driving responsibly, being considerate of others, and following all of the rules of the road.
Radar trailers are self-contained police radar units with large digital displays that are placed at locations where there have been complaints of excessive speed. The intention is to alert motorists of their speed, and give them a chance to correct their driving behavior.
If you want a trailer for your street, contact the Traffic Division at (925) 252-4811.
