City offices will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2020 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was the chief spokesperson for the nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state laws. Dr. King was assassinated in 1968. Martin Luther King day was first observed in 1986 and has been officially observed by all 50 states since 2000.
